“PARADISE” is inspired by the bird of paradise grown in the artist’s backyard. This piece explores the concept of miscommunication through ito-denwa (a childhood toy the artist played growing up - made of yarn and paper cups - to explore the traveling of sound). The girl is trying to convey something, but unsure if her message is delivered, nor the presence of the recipient.

Much like fruit has its moment of ripeness, so do conversations, growth, and connection. There’s a right season for everything. The right person, the right opportunity—if met out of season—can be missed or misunderstood.
