Upcoming April Event
We are currently gearing up for our upcoming April event, which will be a dual art exhibition, with Greenroom Gallery artist Fav Nick Kuchar & introducing new Greenroom artist, Bree Poort. The exhibition will be this following Thursday, April 27th from 7-9pm at our International Marketplace Location (We’re located upstairs on the 2nd floor, Kalakaua Ave side, next to Crazy Shirts)
Nick is best known and loved for his new retro look travel prints, his last few new images the “Hanapepe” series & “Kaneohe Sandbar,” were amazing, but Fans be prepared, because Nick will be showcasing even newer work with us at the show. We can’t wait!
Bree’s work originates from Hawaii inspired drone captured photography, which is then translated into beautifully layered epoxy resin pieces. The unique draw & depth in Bree’s work can only truly be appreciated in person. So I urge you all to not to pass up this opportunity to see these new pieces of work from Bree up close & personal.
Both Nick and Bree will be in attendance, and will be holding a meet and greet as well as an autograph session. Be prepared for another exciting evening of art & good vibes. Events are always free to attend. 1 hour parking validation available with purchase. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
More About Nick
Nick Kuchar grew up drawing & surfing in Florida. After graduating from the primary colors, he attended Auburn University where he earned a degree in Industrial Design. He enjoys surfing, baseball statistics, listening to Muddy Waters, herding cats, & driving his VW bus. Nick is inspired by the early days of surfing & beach culture, including the vintage color palette, typography & nostalgia that goes along with it. He resides on the island of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i where he creates tasty compositions to share with his friends & strangers.
In Nick’s words, this is how it all started…Back in 2010, My wife was looking for some wall decor for our apartment. She couldn't find the vintage Hawaii map she envisioned in her head. She asked me to illustrate one, which led to me exploring how to visually capture some of our favorite spots in Hawai‘i. Several boutiques and galleries started to take note of my retro styled travel prints and slowly but surely my work started to become available in shops throughout the islands and beyond. It's been such a blessing to be able to do what I love and I am beyond stoked when someone enjoys my work as much as I enjoyed creating it. Aloha!
More About Bree
Bree grew up in Southern Orange County with a family of seven. Growing up by the beach her love for surfing, family, religion and art has shaped her to who she is today. She grew up in the LDS church and attended BYU Hawaii getting her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. A couple months before graduating she started a video creation company with a friend and after buying and filming with a drone capturing the beauty of Hawaii from above she was inspired to paint with epoxy resin (stuff used to make surfboards). The glass look and layers it brings the aerial view to life. Other than painting her passions in life include teaching and practicing yoga, hanging out with her husband Bobby, surfing, video, and traveling. Connecting with other creatives is her favorite thing and the life she leads lets her do just that.
