9’4 surfboard story ‘the guy next door’
In the 90’s Mickey Dora ‘da cat’ was my neighbor in Guethary France, I got to shape a few boards for him, one in particular was a black board, with cat eyes on the bottom, one eye was showing him surfing and the other dices showing 6-6 as for him 1966 was the point of no return for surfing.
The board I painted on is the first board I shaped in Hawaii for myself. It was also the third board I shaped for legendary brand inter-island surfshop, the rare Walker blank courtesy of Barry Morrison sat under his house for years and had worm holes going through it, perfect...I loved surfing that board from town to country.
