Cannon Photography

For over two decades Brown W. Cannon III has traveled to more than 50 countries photographing award winning stories for editorial and commercial clients including Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast, National Geographic Adventure, Outside, Copalli Rum and AAA. Brown has camped in the Empty Quarter and been diving with Great White Sharks in Guadalupe. He has ridden 120 miles on horseback through the Mongolian Steppe with the Altai Mountain Eagle Hunters and has sailed through the Arctic Glaciers of Svalbard.

Brown began his photographic journey in his parents’ darkroom over 40 years ago. He studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California and graduated with honors in the Fall of 1999. Brown was named one of the “30 under 30 photographers” to watch by Photo District News and burst onto the scene the day he graduated when he landed his first AD campaign for K-Swiss. This was followed up by his first editorial feature, where he was hired to photograph the action packed South Island of New Zealand for T&L. He never stopped. Brown’s photographs have been shown in galleries and museums in CA, OR, CO, NM, SC and NY. In 2009 Brown Co-Founded Intersection Photos, a boutique travel stock photography company offering an extensive archive of high quality travel images spanning all 7 continents. In 2018 Brown founded no2plastic.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing single-use plastics for the benefit of human and planet health. No2plastic is a worldwide community of people, businesses, students and organizations dedicated to changing consumer habits.

When Brown sets his camera down you will find him in the sea or on the mountain, surfing, skiing, biking or paddleboarding.
