"We worked closely with C. Ito, a large textile company in Osaka, Japan, in the 1980s. They were especially generous and shared their best artists and branch managers with us as we grew our shirt business. We worked closely with their head artist, Mr. Miyaka, who developed this design for us using tapa-like motifs with a batik background. The goods were printed on an angle to add another dimension of interest."
